In the 1960s, George Cooney brought the beloved director into a unique commercial development partnership. In 1996, we purchased our studio in Wilmington, North Carolina. In 2010, we built the Atlanta Complex, the city's first studio campus. The Miami studio partnered with Viacom in 2015. In 2016, EUE/Sokolow shined as part of a team that brought "genius" to NatGeo.

2022

The Atlanta studio has completed an expansion project that added 60,000 square feet of stage space and 30,000 square feet of support space. The studio also hosts Netflix's "A Whole Man," "Family Matters" and "Pain Hustlers."Another busy year in Wilmington, "George & Tammy" (Showtime), "Hightown: Season 3" (Starz), "The Summer I Got Pretty: Season 2" (Amazon Studios) and "The Supremes "It's all playing in the studio. In Earl's All You Can Eat" (Searchlight Pictures).

2021

The studio is very lively and overcrowded. The Wilmington studio is home to "ISS" (LD Entertainment), "Black Phone" (Blumhouse Productions), "Hightown" (Starz), "The Summer I Got Pretty" (Amazon Studios), "Florida Man" (Netflix) , "Echo" (Netflix) and "Our Kind" (Fox). The Atlanta studio is home to Stranger Things: Season 4 (Netflix), Raising Dion: Season 2 (Netflix), Boo (Netflix), Ugly (Netflix) and The Desperado (Netflix).

2020

Amid a difficult year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, studios are reviewing operating procedures and improving facilities to prioritize safety. The Wilmington studio is home to "Hightown" (Starz/Lionsgate) and "Scream" (Spyglass Media Group). The Atlanta studio is home to "Stranger Things: Season 4" (Netflix) and "Raising Dion: Season 2" (Netflix).

2019

"Halloween Kills" (Blumhouse Productions) from the cult classic "Halloween" series at Wilmington Studios alongside "The Georgetown Project" (Miramax) and "Swamp Thing" (DC Universe/Warner Bros. Television) shoot. Stranger Things: Season 3 (Netflix), Raising Dion (Netflix), Insatiable: Season 2 (CBS/Netflix), Christmas on the Square (Netflix), Respect (MGM) and "Hillbilly" Elegy" (Netflix) at the Atlanta studio.

2018

Superheroes and creepy creatures come to the studio. Atlanta is home to the blockbuster "Black Panther" (Marvel Studios) and Netflix series "Stranger Things: Season 3," "The Haunted House" and "Insatiable" (CBS/Netflix). Mercedes (Sonar Entertainment), Revenge (A&E/Hulu), Writing on Bathroom Walls (LD Entertainment) and Wilmington Studios’ popular film, Swamp Raider (DC Universe/Warner Bros. Television).

2017

Netflix has brought two new series to its Atlanta studio, Haunted and Insatiable (CBS/Netflix). The Wilmington studio is home to "Six" (A&E/History Channel), "Good Behavior" (TNT) and "Mr. Mercedes" (Sonar Entertainment).

2016

The hit series "Stranger Things" (Netflix) filmed its second season in Atlanta, while "Season 6" (A&E/History Channel) and "Good Behavior" (TNT) filmed in Wilmington. Atlanta Studios has entered into a strategic partnership with MBS Equipment Co. to expand their lighting and handle inventory and announce a new 20,000 square foot purpose-built lighting and handle facility.

2015

EUE/Screen Gems Studios has partnered with Viacom International Studios to open a new studio in Miami. The new complex was built in a public-private partnership with Miami's Community-wide Renewal Agency (CRA). Georgia Studio & Infrastructure Alliance formed, led by former EUE/Screen Gems Executive Vice President Kris Bagwell, to speak as one voice on legislative and educational issues. in the Atlanta studio. At the Atlanta studio, "Stranger Things" (Netflix), "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chips" (Fox), "Meet" (NBC Universal for USA Network), "Barbershop: The Next Cut" (MGM) and "" Founder (FilmNation Entertainment) was filmed on this land.

2014

Wilmington, NC is home to "Under the Dome" (CBS), "Sleepy Hollow" (Fox) and "Secrets and Lies" (ABC) as well as the Nicholas Sparks movie "Lionsgate" ) location. The TBS pilot show "Detour" was also filmed here. Our Atlanta studio is home to the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" (Lionsgate), "Satisfaction" (NBC Universal Network) and "Red Band Society" (Fox Network ABC) franchises location.

2013

Three of 2013's top 10 biggest hits were filmed at Wilmington Studios: Iron Man 3 (Marvel Studios), The Conjuring (New Line Pictures) and Miller (New Line Movies), "Under the Dome" (CBS) season 1 and renewal. HBO's "East Bound and Down" returns for its final season. TV rules Atlanta: "Devious Maids" (ABC for Lifetime) is filming its first season on a new 10th stage. The lot is home to "Necessary Roughness" (USA Network) and several BET Networks shows.

2012

In Atlanta, the company is expanding again to meet the growing needs of Georgia industry and is building Stage 10, a 30,000-square-foot soundstage. BET Networks, USA Networks, and ABC/Disney air television shows at the lot. In Wilmington, Marvel Studios is filming "Iron Man 3," North Carolina's largest production ever.

year 2011

BET has corporate offices in the Atlanta complex, and Cooneys has opened STAGE 7/8, a 37,500 sq. ft. building in Atlanta. While the US web series "Necessary Roughness" is on hiatus, the feature films "Watch" and "Fly" are filming in Phase 7/8. In Wilmington, "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" was filmed on Phase 10 with special effects water tanks. Filming on the ninth and final season of "One Tree Hill" is wrapping up and saying goodbye to viewers.

2010

EUE/Screen Gems is renovating Atlanta's Lakewood Fairgrounds and opening a multi-phase campus. Chris Cooney launches EUE/Sokolow to develop TV and cable TV content. Sam Sokolow leads the new division in Los Angeles that will develop and produce original scripted and unscripted content.

2009

EUE/Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington, North Carolina, is building Stage 10, the largest soundstage and special effects tank east of Los Angeles.

1996 – 2009

Hundreds of television shows and feature films have been filmed and filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina, including "Dawson's Creek," "The Secret Life of Bees," "Nights at Rodance" and many more.

1983

George Cooney purchased the EUE/Screen Gems assets from The Coca-Cola Company (then owner of Columbia Pictures). Based in its New York studio, EUE/Screen Gems continues to provide production services to film, commercial and television companies, creating commercials for McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Nike, Verizon and Procter & Gamble.

70s

EUE/Screen Gems presents the half-hour soap opera "Edge of Night" at its New York studio. George Cooney creates the first "satellite" division of EUE/Screen Gems, incorporating ZIEFF Films. "King of Madison Avenue" Howard Ziv Provides Directing Talent for New Group The satellite structure gave Zieff the freedom to handle his Hollywood projects and his legendary TV shows, and the satellite structure became a major innovation in the industry.

1960s

Columbia Pictures is acquiring Elliot Unger Elliot (EUE), a commercial production company widely regarded as one of the most successful photography and film entities in the country. When Elliot Unger Elliot (EUE) joined the Columbia family, it was placed under the umbrella of Screen Gems Television and branded EUE/Screen Gems. The EUE/Screen Gems division has grown steadily under longtime Columbia Pictures executive George Cooney. In 2012, it was reported that the TV series Mad Men would be filmed at EUE/Screen Gems.

1948

Filmmakers (and brothers) Mike and Steve Elliott formed a commercial production company with William Unger, forming the production company EUE.
